About the Fort

The Fort is located in Illinois, and was has been kept since 1753. Most of the building in thee fort are representations of the old buildings, while some are original buildings. Museum

The Fort also has a museum, with lots of unique artifacts and information. For example, Inside the museum they have guns, and weapons used in the war. It holds lots of accurate information and rare artifacts.

History Of Fort De Chartres

The fort was created in 1920. Fort De Chartres was occupied by the French from 1753, when it was rebuilt with stone, until 1765, when it was taken over by the British. The fort has not been occupied since 1772. It was one of the strongest forts in america. The oldest building in Illinois, also known as the powder magazine is located in the fort. illinois purchased the fort in 1913, and made it a state park.
